A short note on stored files
This website is small. It does not run advertising networks or a visitor-counting script. The files it may store on your device are listed below. You can accept or decline the bar; declining still lets you read every page.
What a cookie is here
A cookie is a small file a site asks the browser to hold. Local storage is a similar pocket in the browser. Skillsupgradesg uses both only as described on this page. We do not use them to follow you onto other websites.
Necessary files
A session cookie (or session token) is set when you open the enquiry form, so the hidden token on contact.php can be checked against the one the server expects. That stops a simple forged submission. It lasts for the browsing session. If you never open the form, you may still receive a session cookie because the pages are built in PHP with a session started; it is used for that check and for carrying a short error list back to the form. It is not an advertising profile.
If you press Accept or Decline on the bar, the browser stores a preference named for this studio so the bar does not return on every page load. That preference stays until you clear site data. Declining does not disable the session token, because the form cannot be checked without it.
What we do not set
We do not set cookies for analytics dashboards, advertising, social-media pixels, or “remarketing”. Embedded OpenStreetMap on the contact page is loaded from openstreetmap.org when you open that page; that third party may set its own files according to its own notice. If you wish to avoid that, do not load the map, and use the address and the telephone instead.
How to manage them
Every current browser lets you block or delete cookies and local storage for a single site. After you delete them, the cookie bar will appear again, and the enquiry form will issue a fresh token. Blocking all cookies may stop the form from accepting a submission; e-mail [email protected] still works.
Personal data
The session token is not your name. The preference file is not your name. Messages you type into the form are not stored by this website. If you e-mail the same words to us, they become correspondence as described in the privacy note.
